During the holidays and all throughout the year, we try to think about how to be less wasteful. That means having many things -- from our decor to our gifts to our housewares -- be multipurpose. We rounded up several items from our site that can serve multiple purposes so you can enjoy them this holiday season and all throughout the year.
For the holidays: Are you giving someone a really special gift this holiday season? Why not wrap the present in a gold metal box they’ll treasure almost as much as the gift itself? These Gold Rectangle Metal Boxes come as a set of three and are designed with a hinged lid with the ability to be locked (lock not included). Keep sneaky people from peeking!
Post holiday: These are ideal jewelry or trinket boxes. We also like to display them individually or stacked up as shelfie decor.
For the holidays: This set of two Large Rattan Mirror Trays are the ideal backdrop to display a holiday vignette. Put together an arrangement of candles, ornaments or other holiday collectibles like mini trees, nutcrackers, or Santa figurines. Set out on a dining table, coffee table, or on a pair of ottomans.
Post holiday: Still keep these beautiful trays on display, just switch out your decor items for the season. Or even hang them on a wall...these trays have triangle hooks on the back! And of course another alternate use, they’re the perfect handy serving pieces to serve snacks.
For the holidays: We can think of so many ways to use this rug and the holiday season is no exception. It’s the absolute perfect size to place under your tree instead of a traditional tree skirt. Its handwoven lacey pattern is so gorgeous and will help bring your boho Christmas vision to life.
Post holiday: At 48”, this jute rug is the perfect size to fit under a small table or in small spaces like the entryway, kids’ room, or sunroom. Or layer it with another rug for a textured look.
For the holidays: Pom Pom Garland just says “festive,” doesn’t it? We could literally string this up all over this house during the holidays: across the mantle, up the stairway railing, around the Christmas tree. Pom Pom Garland everywhere! It comes in two colors: cream or blush beige.
Post holiday: After the holidays, drape Pom Poms across the top of your curtains. Or dangle them anywhere in the kids’ room for a cute touch of whimsy.
For the holidays: Looking for a unique way to display a small Christmas tree or poinsettia plant? Place the base in this thick braided jute Bono Basket. It comes in two different sizes and it’s sustainably handmade by fair trade artisans in Bangladesh.
Post holiday: You’ll get so much use out of this basket when the holidays are over. Store an extra throw or towels in it, use it to transport misc. items from the car to the house, keep magazines and books in it, or just keep it out on display.
For the holidays: Made from recycled glass and an industrial salvaged iron handle, this Barcelona Recycled Glass Cloche is a stunning display piece on its own. Pair the glass dome with a cake stand, serving tray or trivet to complete the look. For the holidays, you could make your own wintry Snow Globe scene using faux snow, glitter, berries, evergreen, and mini woodland animals.
Post holiday: After the holidays, wow guests with a beautiful presentation of fruit, cheese, bread, or desserts.
For the holidays: We all love getting holiday cards from our friends and family, but where do you put all of them? Gather them in this lovely Bianca Reclaimed Wood Kitchen Caddy, then thumb through them throughout the holiday season.
Post holiday: After the holidays, you get this multifunctional caddy to utilize throughout your house for oils, spices, soaps, sponges, lotions, perfumes, makeup, hair accessories, and so much more!
For the holidays: We're always thinking of ways we can be less wasteful. When we can skip the gift wrap and use something reusable like these luxurious Handcrafted Velvet Pouches, we're all for it!
Post holiday: After the holidays, they can be used as mini handbags, cosmetic bags, or pencil pouches. They come in six different colors; grab a few.
